Amanda - Horizontal Clitoral Hood Piercing

During November I made a decision to have my clitoris pierced - I have always thought it looked very sexy so after discussing it with my partner I decided to 'take the plunge' and have it done.

Once I had made the decision my first thought was 'where do I go for a 'safe' piercing experience?'

I did a search for 'Body Piercing' using Yellow Pages on-line and chose Sydney Medical Body-Piercing Clinic. I phoned and spoke with Tony - he was very friendly and answered all my questions. I made an appointment for the following week and during that week read as much as I could about Body Piercing.

The day before my appointment I found Dr. Janus' web site and read through it. I felt very comfortable (and fortunate) that I had chosen Dr. Janus. The information provided on Dr. Janus' web site was thorough and informative. The fact that he was medically trained (being a doctor) and practiced pain-free piercing was very reassuring to me.

The next day I turned up for my appointment feeling a little nervous but that feeling soon vanished once Jodi greeted me at reception. Jodi chatted to me about body piercing and was enthusiastic and positive about the procedure. She then provided me with a consent form and after care guidelines to read whilst waiting for Dr. Richard Janus.

Before I knew it my name was being called - it was now or never. Richard discussed with me the two types of clitoral hood piercings - vertical and horizontal. I wanted horizontal so was happy when he confirmed I was suitable for a horizontal piercing. He then explained the piercing procedure in great detail, I felt extremely comfortable about the procedure I was about to undergo. I felt no uncertainty at all and totally at ease with Dr. Janus, he was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions thoroughly.

Richard explained that he was going to inject a local anesthetic to numb the area so the piercing would be painless. He warned me that I might feel a sting. When he injected the anesthetic there was a sting, I did flinch but the sting was gone in a matter of seconds. I did not feel another sting for approximately 30 - 40 seconds but it was very mild. While we waited for the anesthetic to 'kick in' we discussed and chose jewelry - a very nice gold captured bead ring.

After a couple of minutes Richard checked for sensation in the area, I couldn't feel anything so on he went with the piercing. He provided me with a mirror so I could watch the procedure but I declined - I only watched when he inserted the jewelry (and then wished I'd watched the actual piercing, never having had any issues with needles I don't know why I declined). Before I knew it the jewelry was inserted and the whole procedure complete.

There had been no pain or discomfort at all during the piercing. It was amazing! It was all so quick and pain-free. I was very happy with my new piercing!! There appeared to be very little bleeding during the procedure and hardly any after. I wore a panty liner that day and the following day but there was barely any need. And as for pain - none! Not a single sting, burn or any tenderness afterwards. There was no swelling or redness. I was amazed at how painless the procedure was. I expected discomfort when the anesthetic wore off but there was none, I expected it to sting when I took my salt-water bath but it didn't, I expected swelling but again - nothing! I had the tiniest bruise at the top of the clitoral hood that was visible for 2 days but that was it.

The first night I kept running to the mirror to take a look at my new piercing - it is such a sexy look! I was very impressed and so was my husband! Each night I religiously take my salt-water baths for around 15 minutes, I also followed Dr. Janus' suggestion of additional Vitamin C and Zinc each day. I basically followed all the after care instructions and have had no problems with the piercing. And of course - it looks great! I couldn't be happier! I am amazed at how quickly it has healed.

he only issue I have had with my piercing (which was self inflicted may I add) was approximately 1 month after the piercing when I danced for 5 or so hours on a very hot night at a Christmas Party and the piercing became a little irritated on one side. I e-mailed Richard a couple of days later as the piercing was still slightly inflamed. Richard promptly e-mailed me back with advice to solve the problem - increase the number of salt-water baths. Two days later the piercing was back to normal with no sign of inflammation and I have had no problems since.

I have now had the piercing for 8 weeks and couldn't be happier! This piercing has been such a positive experience for me - It is an intimate expression of my sexuality and individuality and the enhanced sensual pleasure has been amazing. I love it! For me, having my clitoris pierced has been a way of getting in touch with two fundamental natures of humanity - beauty and pleasure.

I highly recommend Dr. Richard Janus to anyone interested in Body Piercing. He is a very enthusiastic, professional piercer offering extensive knowledge and interest in adorning the body. I definitely recommend the painless piercing procedure he advocates.

If you're interested in obtaining a high quality, pain-free piercing experience in a hygienic, sterile clinic, performed by a piercer who is medically qualified then Dr. Janus is your man. I can't thank him enough for the service provided during and after the piercing. I am a very, very happy customer. I am now considering having my nose pierced and know exactly where I'll be going to have it done.

Amanda
