Cat - Horizontal Clitoral Hood Piercing

Being the whimp that I am and only having 2 real other body piercings (nose and tongue) this is something that I thought I would never have the balls to do. Spending hours on the net looking at pictures and experiences and searching for the perfect piercer I finally decided that I wanted to go through with it and booked an appointment so I would have time to psych myself up for it. The day grew near and it all seemed surreal even as I was driving to the piercing place with my best friend. It was all like a dream - right up until I was being beckoned into the piercing room. The piercer I chose was an actual doctor who has an overwhelming interest in body piercing. I searched high and low finding a suitable place and someone whom I was comfortable with. Another bonus was that the piercer I chose was a firm believer in pain free body piercing. Now some would say that getting the pain is half the fun - but I'm not one of those people. I love piercings and find them a huge turn on but the pain usually associated is a big turn off.

I wasn't nervous as such to tell you the truth - it was all just surreal even when the piercer started discussing jewelry options. I wanted a ring full stop. I think a ring looks more dainty and cute than a barbell. Having discussed that he told me that a ring works better with a horizontal piercing so that's what I was about to get.

So I removed my undies and hitched up my skirt and layed down on the piercing table. The piercer put on some gloves and confirmed that I was suited to a horizontal piercing. Now we discussed anesthetic options. Knowing what a wimp I was my piercer suggested that he apply some Emla cream first - so we went ahead with that, he put a gauze pad thing over me and so out I went to have a cigarette and wait 20 minutes. At this time I was realising that it was still possible to back out and asked myself over and over if I really wanted this. Needless to say I was back on that piercing table 20 minutes later.

At this stage I knew that needles were approaching and I started getting rather scared. The whole area was numb - I didn't feel a thing whilst he inserted an insulin needle full of anesthetic. Just knowing that this was happening although I felt no pain, I started feeling nauseous and needed a drink of water and a jellybean to stop my light headedness. 5 minutes later and I'm ready for the next step - the piercing.

No clamps were used and no pain was felt whatsoever. I watched my friend's face the whole time and she was expressionless watching the piercing. She later told me that she was about to throw up seeing the needle go through such a sensitive body part and watching the blood spurt out endlessly. It was done and I didn't feel a thing. I sat up and felt a little faint but was oh so excited and wanted to look. I was handed a mirror and damn it looked cute, until the blood came a spurting out and that I cannot handle so I had to lay down and eat jelly beans for 15 minutes. It was whilst I was unconsolable that the piercer noticed that the ring looked a little big and he then changed it to a smaller size. Much prettier.

I was given a pad, because I bleed a lot and was on my way, stopping at the newsagents to grab a Magnum ice cream before heading back to the car to attempt to drive home. After an hour the anesthetic wore off and still no pain. Going to the toilet still no pain. Washing in salt water still no pain. It's now that I remember my piercer saying to me "it will probably be a bit of an anti-climax in regards to pain!" And he was right.

Its currently Day 2 of piercing and all is fine. It has stopped bleading and is kinda tender when touched but not a problem. I feel great - its such a liberating experience. It has made me more confident about my body.

My whole piercing experience was pain free and rather relaxing. I would highly recommend Dr Richard Janus to anyone wanting to get pierced, with or without anesthetic. His practice's homepage is: http://www.body-piercing.com.au/ - check it out and if you have questions either email or ring them - they are so helpful and put you at ease.

Well now I'm adding to this - it's now over a month after the initial procedure. No pain whatsoever in the healing period. No discomfort no nothing!! Its great I'm so pleased with it still. Looks so cute.
