K J - Tongue Piercing

MY TONGUE PIERCING

it all started when i saw someone with their tongue pierced,i just knew i had to have mine pierced.after talking my mum into it i called up a local piercing shop that was recommended to me.i made the appointment for that day....

we arrived there on time and i was told to take a seat and look over the information that i was given ,which outlined proper aftercare and normal do's and don'ts.i was then asked to go into the piercing room.my tongue was dried and marked with a purple solution and clamps were placed on my tongue....3 secs later a massive needle was shot straight through it,the bar was then threaded back through the hole and the ball was placed on the end........at this point i was in pain.i was told by the piercers that the tongue was the least painful piercing but i thought otherwise....the bar i was given was huge and the balls were giant,it hurt so much that it lasted 7 hours before i took it out....

after that healed up i noticed my friends piercing....it was much further back than mine was and it was fine......i missed the piercing that much that had to get it re-done....but this time i would be smart! i decided to go to the sydney medical body piercing centre because they had anesthetic!!......

this morning i woke up all exited about what i was about to do!.i arrived at the sydney medical body piercing centre at 10:00am...i was taken into the doctors surgery and then we talked about the risks and so on...i sat down on a bed and my tongue was dried and then marked with a spot or purple solution....i looked at the jewelry and told the doctor that my last tongue piercing was bad and i wanted this one to work out.....i told him that the bar that the other shop had given me was extremely huge and the balls on it were massive also...so after looking at the jewelry and talking about the jewelry, the doctor chose a plain surgical steel barbell with smaller balls than my last one,and this bar wasn't as long as my last, its still bigger than required but u need to allow room for swelling.so any way,i laid down on the bed and the doctor gave me a local anesthetic....it didn't hurt a bit!,soon my tongue was numb and it was time to pierce!!...

the doctor had marked it further back than my last piercing too.my last one was right on the tip and it drove me crazy.i was lying there and i closed my eyes....the doctor told me to stick out my tongue, when i did he held and pierced it....in a matter of seconds it was done, the first second i put my tongue back into my mouth i knew this piercing was perfect!.it felt comfortable, there was no pain and i could talk still.....

so i have experienced both a tongue piercing with anesthetic and without anesthetic.....and trust me the anesthetics better!

places that pierce without anesthetic use clamps to deaden the pain, they hold the clamps on there for a while before they pierce you.thus starving the tissue from oxygen and slowing down the healing process...

it has been eleven hours since i have had my tongue done, and i love it. after two weeks i can go and get it shortened and even get colored balls put on !!

today has been fine,i recommend that u suck ice allot and eat cold foods to reduce swelling,i have been taking panadol cause it hurts a tiny bit to talk but tomorrow it will be better...and soon i will be so used to it that it would feel weird in my mouth without it!

oh well that's about all!!....cya!
