How do I become a piercer? e-mail question: e-mail reply: In this way you can observe real piercing without risk to yourself or others, learn very rapidly, and be guided when you finally start piercing yourself. To find a piercer willing to teach you is not easy. Ask and ask again. Another way is to do a course. There are very few courses available, and it is rare that the teacher has had formal training in medicine. I now offer courses in USA, Australia and New Zealand. Find me at www.learn2pierce.com. You should immerse yourself in as much information as you can, by talking to piercers and pierced persons, reading books on the body arts, exploring the internet. At the same time you should obtain copies of any legal requirements from your local Health Department to ensure that you comply with all the necessary rules and regulations. Links to USA State legislation are available at the APP site. Consider joining the APP as an Associate. For piercing techniques consider purchasing the Piercing Handbook published by the APP. |
