When can you change nipple jewelry? e-mail question: e-mail reply: If a piercing is not fully healed, usually less than 6 months old, you will need to be especially careful. Avoid changing externally threaded jewelry yourself as the threads can damage the inside of your piercing. Internally threaded jewelry or unthreaded jewelry (such as rings) is much safer to try changing yourself. In any case do not attempt to change any jewelry yourself during the first two months. The healing process is just not advanced enough. Only a professional piercer should swap jewelry in new piercings. |
