What does a burning sensation mean in a piercing?

...its more of a burning...its not painful as in a broken leg or anything
like that..it just burns ..i sure hope nothing is wrong with it..

Burning often means allergy or sensitivity to the metal of your jewelry.
Do you have rashes on your body? A rash from stainless steel in watches
or watch straps, or problems with cheap jewelry may indicate nickel or
chromium sensitivity.
