Why does my navel piercing keep migrating out?

Why does my navel piercing keep migrating out? Is there anything one can
do to prevent this? This is my 2nd navel piercing & everything was unremarkable.
But at the 2 month mark...it's popping out again! Help!

There are several reasons for a migrating navel piercing.
- Too shallow a piercing in the first place - you need a decent bite of flesh.
- Trauma - accidental damage by pulling on the jewelry from clothing or direct blows.
- Wrong gauge jewelry. It must be 14g or thicker.
- Poor healing, as in smoking, poor diet, lack of Vitamin C.
