The following set of photographs illustrates the main features of
the procedure during an Eyebrow Piercing with a captive bead ring.
Anesthetic was used to make the piercing
itself painless, but it is optional.
Most piercers will use a clamp to align the entry and exit points.
I use "freehand" piercing and rarely use clamps.
Whichever method you choose, make sure your piercer has plenty
of experience.
Marking the entry and exit points with a dot of gentian
violet.
Disnfecting the skin surface using a Betadine
swab.
Injecting 2% Plain Lidocaine at the superior aspect
of the piercing.
The cannula is just penetrating through the exit of
the piercing.
The cannula has passed through the skin.
Having previously inserted the ring into the cannula,
the ring is now pushed through the piercing.
The finished piercing with captured bead ring in situ.
