Daith

    X Marks the daith.

Dermal Punch

  • An instrument comprised of an extremely sharp circular blade mounted on a handle.
  • Used by doctors to take a sample of skin for analysis of skin diseases.
  • Can be used in body piercing to instantly create larger piercings typically in the ear.
  • Also called a skin biopsy punch.

Diabetes

  • A disease in which the body is unable to process sugar correctly.
  • Associated with a higher infection rate and poor healing in piercings.
  • Can be controlled by diet, tablets and/or insulin.
  • Piercing should be limited to persons with good diabetic control.

Disinfectant

  • A chemical that destroys or inhibits disease-causing microorganisms.
