Daith
Dermal Punch
- An instrument comprised of an extremely sharp circular blade mounted
on a handle.
- Used by doctors to take a sample of skin for analysis of skin diseases.
- Can be used in body piercing to instantly create larger piercings
typically in the ear.
- Also called a skin biopsy punch.
Diabetes
- A disease in which the body is unable to process sugar correctly.
- Associated with a higher infection rate and poor healing in piercings.
- Can be controlled by diet, tablets and/or insulin.
- Piercing should be limited to persons with good diabetic control.
Disinfectant
- A chemical that destroys or inhibits disease-causing microorganisms.
