Oral

  • Pertaining to the mouth.
  • Oral piercings include tongue, lip, labret, cheek piercings.

Outie

  • A navel in which the central part pokes out from the wall of the abdomen.
  • Sometimes this means there is an umbilical hernia present. Umbilical hernia is an absolute contra-indication to navel piercing. Piercing in this situation could lead to peritonitis.
  • Much less common than the reverse situation, known as the innie.
